With the Clean Pass vehicle stickers on a qualified vehicle, you can drive the vehicle in a high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane of the Long Island Expressway (LIE) at any time with the driver as the only vehicle occupant. Village ordinance requires all motor vehicles registered or housed in the Village of Libertyville to display a current Village vehicle sticker. Vehicle stickers are valid from May 1 through April 30. The deadline for purchasing a vehicle sticker is April 30. After this date, any vehicle without a current sticker is at risk of receiving a $100.00 ticket from the Police Department.

Once vehicle information has been received in the mail, residents are strongly encouraged to purchase stickers online. You can also complete the fillable PDF forms (for vehicle stickers and pet licenses ) print, and return them with payment to Village Hall, after which stickers will be mailed. Mail completed forms with payment to, or use the drop box at: Village Hall, 740 Hillgrove Avenue, Western Springs, 60558. A late fee will be applied to all purchase after April 30.*

Note: New residents, or those with new vehicles should not purchase vehicle stickers online after May 1. It is advised to print and mail the form with payment in these cases, or call Village Hall directly, to avoid being charged a late fee.

All vehicle stickers expire on September 30th of every year. Fees double after October 31st for all vehicles not properly registered by the September 30th deadline. New residents moving into the community should register all vehicles as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days of residency, to avoid being ticketed by the police department and subject to higher fees.

Processing and Handling Fee: The processing and handling fee covers the costs of processing vehicle registration. These costs include state and county services; creation of annual renewal notices; registration stickers; and other related services and materials.

The annual renewal period begins on June 1 and runs through July 31 and during that period, the cost for passenger vehicles stickers is $40, with additional fees for trucks and trailers. All vehicle license stickers must be displayed on vehicles by August 1. Prices for all stickers increase by 50 percent on August 1.

A $25.00 late fee will be charged on all stickers purchased June 1 or later. Exceptions are new residents of 30 days or less, or a vehicle purchased within the last 60 days. Proof of residency date or vehicle purchase date is required in both instances.

Extended Overnight Parking Ban Exemption permits are available at the Village Hall. All vehicles must have current vehicle stickers before the extended overnight parking ban exemption permit may be purchased. Up to three permits are allowed per household at a cost of $5.00 each. Additional restrictions apply.

Vehicle stickers are required for every motorcycle, passenger car, SUV, light truck, commercial vehicle, bus, or other motorized vehicle that you keep or store in the Village overnight on a regular or even semi-regular basis. It is required to purchase a vehicle sticker from the Village even if the vehicle is registered someplace other than the Village. Also, please be aware that a vehicle sticker is required for each vehicle, even if not parked on the street.

Vehicle stickers are valid from May 1st - April 30th, and are required to be purchased each year. If you reside in the Village, you have from May 1st to June 30th to purchase your sticker for that year, or a late penalty will be issued. If a new vehicle has recently been purchased or if you moved to the Village during the year, you have 30 days from the date of purchase or the day you moved in to purchase a vehicle sticker at the regular price; otherwise, the late penalty will be issued.
